Do you think being apart of the Cross Country team takes a lot of time to be prepared? Coach VanOsdol plans each practice with high expectations for the team, and Freshman Charlie Forstein overcame that in a huge way when tryouts came around.
Forstein plays two sports: lacrosse and cross country. Both sports take a lot of endurance.
“Her background of lacrosse gave her the fitness she needed to be apart of the Cross Country team this season, which landed her a spot on the Varsity Cross Country team,” says Coach VanOsdol.
Runners need something to motivate them such as; someone they look up to or just to become a better athlete in that sport they are participating in.
“My motivation is to stay in shape,” says Forstein.
Most runners need to improve either on their time or their endurance.
“I will try to start out the season being in shape therefore I can get a new personal record near the beginning of the season and build on that PR throughout the season,” says Forstein.
Participating in team sports helps you have a team of sisters and brothers that you can trust and that will encourage you to do better.
“I enjoyed the sense of community on the team and the friendships I made,” says Forstein.
