Senior Basketball Player Kimani Mungai has risen from being a benchwarmer to being a captain on the team. He has been playing since his sophomore year on the Varsity Boys Basketball Team.

“Kimani is a hard worker, and he is a great example for underclassmen on the team,” says Varsity Coach Gordon Stallard.

Mungai aspires to be a better player and teammate which helps him play his hardest at every practice and game.

“My motivation to keep going is my teammates and the thrill of the sport,” says Mungai.

Mungai is determined to keep up the hard work during practice in order to get a position  as a starter on the team.

“Don’t give up your career because your hard work will pay off,” says Mungai.

His fellow team members support him to help him play his best by encouraging him as he prepares to play.

“Kimani can always lead the team on and off the court. His ability to communicate helps the team celebrate key wins or get over tough losses,” says Senior Basketball Player Austin Evers.
