If an adventurous getaway is the way you are leaning, then Charlotte’s U.S. National Whitewater Center is the place for you. This destination is alive with challenging activities such as stillwater kayaking, ziplining, rock climbing and bouldering, mountain biking, high ropes courses, and, of course, whitewater rafting. Ice skating is also offered during the winter season, and is a great activity for all ages and skill levels. This destination also houses more relaxing activities such as festivals, film series, yoga sessions, and adventure dining, which combines ropes courses and ziplining with dinner for a dining experience that is sure to impress.

Asheville, North Carolina’s Navitat is an adventure center located in Moody Cove, east of the Blue Ridge   Parkway. Here you can experience high ropes courses, ATV tours, and zipline tours that showcase the Blue Ridge Mountains from a breathtaking point of view and stunning heights. Zipline tours reach heights of 200 feet and 1250 feet in length. This location a great day trip destination for any time of year, and it’s an amazing way to experience the beauty of the wilderness and mountain ranges that the Carolinas are home to.

If you’re looking for a quiet coastal getaway, Georgetown, Fripp Island, and Murrells Inlet will provide beautifully peaceful vacations. Georgetown, South Carolina has many beautiful historic areas and beautiful beaches such as DeBordieu and Pawleys Island. Tucked away between Myrtle Beach and Charleston, it’s a refreshingly quiet destination with beautiful architecture, beaches, and delicious food. There are many historic buildings, cemeteries, and museums to see during your visit. Fripp Island is a barrier island located in Beaufort County, South Carolina. Beaufort itself has many gorgeous areas, beaches, and historical monuments. Murrells Inlet is a historic fishing village located just south of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. You can experience kayaking, deep-sea fishing, and waterfront dining at many delicious local seafood restaurants.

Venturing further south, Savannah, Georgia is a beautiful destination any time of year. Spanish moss cascades over historic architecture at every corner. Located downtown, Forsyth Park is a must-see, with a beautiful fountain at the center, surrounded by the city’s iconic live oaks. Savannah’s Saint Patrick’s Day Festival, which is a huge holiday in the city, will be held on Tuesday, March 17th. Located just 18 miles east of the city is Tybee Island, a beautiful town with gorgeous beaches, some accessible only by boat.
