In a recent story by Tyler Davidson, an unsung hero of the civil rights era was highlighted. Sergeant Isaac Woodard’s story  was instrumental in ending segregation in the Armed Forces, and yet he is not championed as much as contemporaries. Why is it that there are so many cases of this in history where important people or groups are overshadowed?
