I think that’s fairly true. I think people who accept the mindset of sex and engage in activities that relate to sexual actions, images, and feelings are very much more likely to have sex. I think people who are less comfortable with speaking to another person (via text or any other time) aren’t going to engage in intercourse. If someone doesn’t want to think about connecting to someone else that way, of course they’re not going to do it. However, someone that has no problem with their sexuality isn’t going to think much of it.

I don’t know if that is completely true. Most news reports are biased and overgeneralized, to the point where it does not suit to fit the whole teenage population. I think that some people sext just because they don’t have the guts to do it. More than likely if you are talking about it, it’s because you haven’t done anything.

But people do talk about sex after they’ve had intercourse. Why would they stop just because they’ve done it? If anything, they would talk about it more. Plus, once they’ve had sex, they’re going to want it more, so they’re still going to sext. I think that sexting does have an influence on teens having sex. Even like you said, they might be sexting because they don’t have the guts to actually have sex, but the more they sext, the more comfortable they become. They’ll start getting more intense, and eventually they’ll do the things they talked about in their texts.

That is totally not true!! Just because people think about sex and talk about it doesn’t mean that they going out and having sex!!! Why would someone go against God’s wishes and have sex? I don’t think that sexting is harmful. It’s your actions that God responds to.

UM contradict yourself much???? In the bible it says that Lusting in your heart for someone else is a sin. Lusting is not a visual sin it is a thought so therefore God sees your thoughts just as well as your actions. Double Check your facts.

So, the very reason for your existance, you being the result of your parents having sex, is against “God’s wishes”? Human nature isn’t a “sin”, it’s in our blood. Don’t act like it’s wrong, all of a sudden…

I think its kinda obvious. sexting is basically having sex over text. Its kinda like a gateway drug. When you take gateway drugs, you are more likely to move onto harder drugs. When you sext, you are more likely to move onto actual sex.
