Brashier Over the Years

Due to the amazing start to the new year, a new challenge has made its way onto social media. The 10-Year Challenge dares social media users to post a picture comparing their current selves to themselves ten years ago. Wouldn’t you like to see how all of your Brashier friends have blossomed into the beautiful flowers that they are now? (Photo courtesy of Pixabay, picture taken by Stux)

  • Due to the amazing start to the new year, a new challenge has made its way onto social media. • “I think my personality changed the most because I have become more responsible and mature. I still kind of look the same so the improvements were more internal than external. I am more respectful and I manage time better. I’m 17 now so ten years ago I was seven, and ten years from now, when I am 27, I would like to be the same fun and friendly person that I am now. The only thing that I want to change is that I want to be functioning out in the world when I am 27,” said junior Joseph Gibson (Photo courtesy of Joseph Gibson).

  • The 10-Year Challenge has spread across social media platforms very quickly. There were even celebrities posting there throwback pictures, making their fans want to hop on the trend too. There were people such as Tyra Banks all the way to Miley Cyrus posting their 10 year difference! Even one of our favorite math teacher, Mr. Diener, participated! (Photo Courtesy of Mike Diener)

  • “My glow up was definitely an eight just because of the buzz cut I used to have. I feel like I have gotten much taller and chosen new styles such as longer hair, so my physical appearance was the thing that changed the most for me,” said junior John Murphy (Photo courtesy of John Murphy).

  • Some people don't just glow up, some gain companions too (Photo courtesy of Sherri Castillo).

  • “My teeth were definitely the thing that changed the most. I have come a long way in the last ten years and in another ten years, I would like to be writing professionally. The advice I would give my future self is “don't give up and do what makes you happy, not something that is just going to be easy,” said senior Julia Goulet (Photo courtesy of Julia Goulet).

  • “I think I've definitely changed a decent amount. I'm not as crazy as I used to be because I've had to mature with gaining more responsibilities as I get older. In ten years I plan on being done with college, working on getting out there in the career world, and maybe doing some traveling. If I had to tell my future self anything, it would probably be to always look at the bigger picture of things. When you're in the moment, things can seem like a bigger deal than they are, so really just remembering to take a step back and look at everything I’ve been blessed with,” said sophomore Natalia DeRosa (Picture courtesy of Natalia DeRosa).

  • Ten-Year Challenges are very fun to look at, especially when we actually know the person in the pictures. Ten years is a lot of time, and there can be major changes in that time span, so people love to show off the fact that they went from being a beautiful baby bloom to an even more beautiful and prospering flower! • "I think I glowed up a good 7 ½ out of 10. My hair was the best part of the change; I feel like it improved a lot. It has been 10 years and I was six in the first picture and now I’m 16, so it makes sense that I changed a lot," said junior Jordan Oppatt (Photo courtesy of Jordan Oppatt).

  • Well weren't they cute? Our fellow Brashier Bengals had major glow ups, and they have blossomed into the tremendous beautiful flowers that they are now. Now, let’s look for the future to bring us even brighter changes! (Photo courtesy of Pixabay, picture credits to Uschi_Du)
